Visit local faith communities, learn about different beliefs, and connect with
neighbors in a spirit of respect and friendship.

How can I participate in the open house event?
Check the schedule for times and locations of the open houses during the event.
Drive around the valley to visit each faith community during their one-hour open house.
Plan to spend at least 15 minutes at each location.
If you have more time, stay for questions and answers, a short message or music.

What will I learn about during the visits?
The significance of traditional or ceremonial clothing
The meaning of special holidays, customs, or traditions
Typical worship service and how to participate
Religious structure, terminology, and appropriate titles for leaders
Basic doctrines and sacred texts
How religion supports families and the community

What do I need to know before I visit the faith communities?
This event has been designed to be family-friendly; all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend the open houses.
The faith communities are generously opening their doors to the community. Please be respectful of their sacred spaces and beliefs.
The faith communities will not be trying to change your beliefs, and you will not be participating in a worship service; you are just being invited to learn.
Please come with the intent to listen, and out of respect for the different faiths, please find a different time and place to share your own beliefs.
